New Finds - 03-17-2010

First off let me wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day... hope you didn't drink too much green beer... and a Happy Anniversary to my dear friend Carol at Firecrackerkid Primitives... no I didn't win one of her prize treasures... but some other lucky person did...

Did you think I was missing in action... I have to stop watching "Hoarders" on TLC it is scaring the hell out of me... I see so many similar traits in myself... I could never get that bad as I detest unorganization... but I am sure those people thought the same at one time... I don't have a problem getting rid of stuff, I just have a hard time not bringing it home... so I have been very particular about what I have been purchasing lately... I am such a sucker for a good bargain... all I can say is I better not give up my booth anytime soon... well on with the show as they say... hope you enjoy...

I just fell in love with this handsome guy... look at the vibrant colours on him... he's a cocky little fellow

now this guy is a little dull...
I am going to remove him from the plaque and give him a new identity and make him a little more exciting...

well I have a little secret to tell you all... I am not supposed to say anything yet, but I am just bursting with joy... this is going to be for my first grandchild... shhh... my daughter wanted to wait a bit to share the news and told me not to tell... who said I was good at keeping secrets... you have to promise to keep this under your hat...
oh the fun I am going to have fixing this up pretty or maybe not so pretty... I can at least get the painting done now... I look at all kids stuff with a totally different eye now...

I have to tell you a freaky story... I was sitting at my computer last week, when I got one of those zingers in my head... I scare myself and others all the time with those zingers... out of the blue I picked up the phone and called my daughter and asked her if she was pregnant... I got one of those Mom how did you know statements... as she is going to find out MOTHER'S KNOW... she had just got in from the Doctor's shortly before I spoke with her... there are just some things you just can't explain... and there are some things that need no explanation...

this baby isn't going to just have one silver spoon in it's mouth... too bad they are thrifted but nothing like starting the genius off early... oops did I say that... lol

this handmade signed pottery lamp will make a perfect little nursery lamp... I am on a search for the right shade for this... I have a ton of lampshades but why is I just never have the size or colour I am looking for.

now I suppose this could be Gramma's recipe box... oh that poor child... I have a great recipe for hockey pucks... there is something in my DNA that won't allow me to follow a recipe but I guess it isn't too late to learn...

after we get that baking situation figured out we can fill this cute basket and go on a picnic...

oh the fun we will have

this is for my little cowboy to take his boots off at Gramma's house...
after it gets a prim bath of course...lol

I just couldn't resist having this little guy follow me home... It is a rooster creamer... I have a weakness for different and this certainly fit the bill...
perfect for little tea parties...

a perfect treasure jar... dated 1951... oh I finally found something older than me

now to keep an eye on the weather... now with the worming treatment...
I think I must have been a little frustrated that day...lol

Thanks so much for stopping by, I am so happy you did and I hope you enjoyed... and remember shhhh, just because I can't keep a secret doesn't mean you shouldn't ... happy thrifting... have a great week... see ya all soon... xo

Congrats on all your wonderful finds! I loved the little stories attached to each one!

Congrats on the grammy part, too! Momma's know things. That umbillical cord may have been cut in the flesh, but the spiritual one sometimes isn't!!!
