I got a few projects done this weekend... okay, okay I will give you your Mya fix after the post.
you can see by the dust how long this piece has been hanging around in the wood pile... it almost met it's demise until I saw beyond what it was... as you can see I dismantled it then remembered the before pic
remember the soap keep and this one I had made... well this is one half of the bowl that was left over... I attached it to the back board of that dirty piece...
I beat it up with a hammer claw, I think I got a little carried away on such a small piece, so I took an U shaped rasp and gave it a few dings... it is interesting to say the least.
Now the trick was, what do I do with it... I don't need another soap keep...
why not a candle holder...
I grunged some old thrifted candles... added a thrifted candle snuffer that I had hanging around... the wired burlap flowers were also thrifted... I love those little guys... pic doesn't do them justice
before you throw it out...
dismantle it in your mind and think about what else it could be

Okay for the fun stuff... My sweet little angel Mya is finally home and she is doing fabulous... she was released 2 weeks ahead of schedule... she continues to gain weight and eats and poops on schedule... she is one little pooping machine... lol
swaddled up after her first bath at home... getting very sleepy
this is the first time she experienced her new swing... not too sure about that movement...lol
it wasn't long before she was sound asleep... she now loves it
snug as in bug in her new bassinette...
it is so good to have her home... she has settled right in nicely...
I wish I lived closer... it is an hour each way for me... but I do manage to get there weekly to get my Mya fix.
her first outing to the Doctor's today... (10-18-10)
weighing in at 5.14 lbs...
check out those chubby rings... she is still working on that 6 pack... lol
she is actually holding onto her soother, you can't pry it out of her mouth... lol
Well folks I am sorry it took so long to get this on here... lesson learned. The pic uploader is still giving me some trouble but I am not sure if it is me or the computer... I am sneaking this in from work, so no time to play with it.
Hope you all have a great week. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Big Hugs,
Deb

That's wonderful news that she's home and doing well! God is Good!
I can't get over how tiny she is. Be very careful with the swing since she's so small. She could slip out the bottom, right past the divider that is to fit between the legs.
Love the little makeover with the candle snuffer.
Thanks guys for your wonderful comments... LOL, Granny I thought the exact same thing, it is actually in a laying position no chance of falling out. Gramma already checked it out.
Have a great day guys... have to run.
Hugs, Deb
He tummy looks ALOT cutier than mine, LOL.
I love your little "soap keeper" or "candle keeper" later when I get my room redone (much later) I may be bugging you on how you get such a nice finish on your projects.
