Finally some new finds... 04-24-10

Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly - Stephen R. Covey

I have been trying so hard to find that motivation deep down inside of me... I have been searhing for the right piece to get me moving again... I've been combing my fav haunts and let me tell ya, it is slim pickings out there... are people "hoarding" their stuff for garage sales?... okay I am ready, what is taking so long, don't you know that us junkers have been going through withdrawal for 7 months now... enough already get that stuff out there... weather has been gorgeous... for the first time in years, we actually are having a real spring... not much rain but some beautiful warm sunny days... perfect for garage sales... so to all you sellers out there, be warned we are ready to come and pick your junk treasures and we have a pocket of money just ready to give you.

These are a few things that I have found in the last month...

I just fell in love with this little rocker... I remember these from years ago...

I am going to make a cushion for the seat and wrap the bar... must protect those little teeth

inky dinky spider...
isn't this the cutest light... perfect for the new nursery

and if the other one doesn't work... then there is always this one...
Mr. Moon is soon going to wave bye-bye
I have plans for this

the perfect night light...

these 38" and 25" oak frames will be perfect to put a saying in... or frame the babies name... another thing on my Dollar Store list

for time that stands still...

I should have mounted this on top of my chimney, I have Starlings that decided to make my wood burning fireplace their home... now mind you I didn't send them an invitation or anything like that... they just took it upon themselves to squat at my house...
last year I had a racoon family living under my closed in porch unwelcomed guests are like fish... after three days they start to stink
I took the Welcome sign down... PAY ATTENTION
the noisey little critters are really wearing out their welcome...
don't you know there is a little kitty on the other side of that insert that smells dinner... lol

You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"
George Bernard Shaw
meet Maggie... yes this is a real stuffed Magpie... now don't panic, I wasn't responsible for her demise... I totally creeped my BFF out when I bought this... it just fit so perfectly into my prim home

these make perfect wall holders for the new reed diffusers,
especially if you have small kids or pets

flat back basket...
will be perfect on my deck with some Vinca and some pretty strawberry geraniums

need I explain... hahaha....
Guess shoes from the Sally Ann 3.99 brand new...score
I knew I shouldn't have taken that little detour to my fav shoe store, a basement sale, get out of my way...  I was like a kid in a candy store... $5.00 a pair... bigger score
I went home a happy girl
motivation? what's that... I got new shoes and lots of them... lol

Hope you all enjoyed the journey...
have a great weekend and hopefully the sun is shining wherever you are...
until the next time

Hugs

Go Deb! You got some really great finds there. Love the rocker! And the spidey light. I can't wait to see what you do with those two! Of course Maggie is the queen! She may need a crown or a feather boa though. You know how us Maggie's like to flaunt our stuff! Hope you found your inspiration!

Hey gal! This is an awesome post. I love every item you found even the stuffed Magpie! Why not? Oh, and the quotes:) I have never seen a rocker like that before. Is this just a Canada item? Have had a raccoon problem before though. They're everywhere:) Thanks for sharing friend. Hugs~Carol

Those are great finds. I especially love the little rocker. The two lights are also cute. I can see several possibilites with the night light. I feel as you do, people are hoarding their goodies for garage/yard sales.
