DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME...

I was so thrilled to find this piece at the thrift store this week...
I couldn't wait to give it a new facelift this morning... I even got up early and I remembered to take the before pic...

I gave it my special grunge treatment... made sure it was straight on the pan...
now under the broiler you go...
then it struck, a AADHD moment,
I decided to go to Dee Dee's daughter's wedding, I had my best PJ's party dress on and couldn't hold back my excitement, the big day had finally arrived... (she had been teasing us for weeks)...
everything was so beautiful I was totally absorbed... hmmm what's that smell

I came to my senses when I turned around and saw smoke bellowing out of my oven and this screaming to get out...
did I not say don't take your eye off of it, it happens fast... lesson learned.

I also found this...

it will be getting a makeover too, when all the smoke clears...

you can't do too much damage with a paint brush... right?

I sure hope your day is a little more successful than mine, I think I will go have a nap now and start mine over again...lol

Hugs,

Oh Deb, so sorry that your project didn't turn out. That's a shame. I do have to remember when I am doing things like that so they don't turn out like that!

Oh No!!! Sorry that happened. The one and only time I tried that process my sampler actually caught fire. I haven't been brave enough to try it again.

Oh my goodness Deb. Hey it only gets worse with age. LOL. You'll have those days now. I keep telling myself and my hubby the same thing and get the same response each time. "Getting old sucks!" LOL. Hang in there luv:)

Apparently I'm out of the loop. I don't know what you were attempting to do! Is this an antiquing process? I've never heard of it before. I'm sorry it didn't work for you!

Hi Diane... thanks for stopping by... I tried to email you directly but you don't have your email set up.

If you look at the next post it will explain what my objective was for this piece. It just gives it an aged look.

Hugs, Deb

Oh gosh, good thing you were still home and caught it before any real damage was done! Scary!
Guess sometimes we need a reminder like that to be careful..
Glad it was only the sampler ruined, and not your house.
