I have been tagged by Laura, a very sweet and talented friend I met on Blogland
1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals, or are they members of your family?
I have a kitty cat named Leo who is the love of my life... he found my daughter and insisted she find him a good home, so guess who got elected... she already had 2 cats and a dog. He was left behind by his previous owners when they moved, can you imagine doing that to a helpless little animal. He was raised with a dog and has a lot of dog tendencies... he is Mr. Personality and such a joy to have around. I just couldn’t imagine my life without him.
2. If you can have a dream to come true, what would it be?
To someday own my own business... it would have to include “Memory Hunting” but I would be the one doing the hunting and someone else would run the shop.
3. What is the one thing most hated by you?
People who backstab or who are phony. I am who I am, take me or leave me. Laura I am right there with you girlfriend... I also detest liars... say what you mean and mean what you say... I treasure my friendships and you can’t be a real friend if you are pretending to be something you are not.
4. What would you do with a billion dollars?
I would make a lot of people very happy... I wouldn’t want a billion dollars really, I would just like enough to suffer in comfort. I have this dream in my head that if I won a lot of money I would buy all my friends a new house and fully furnish it the way they would like it and just tell them we are going to visit someone and then hand them the keys... then they would have to go quit their job and travel the world with me on my luxury cruise line.
5. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood?
Doing something creative... I try not to give into moods but when I do I just keep to myself until it passes. A good day of gardening helps too. I am never moody in the summer, just winter when I don’t get enough sunlight.
6. Which is more blessed, loving someone or being loved by someone?
I would have to say that being loved by someone... the rest just happens.
7. What is your bedtime routine?
Check my emails and facebook... I never know when I am going to get a new Mya fix... I go through her pictures before I go to bed; then my day is complete.
8. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your partner?
Through mutual friends... I was recently divorced at the time and not looking for a full time relationship, just a friend and here we are 15 years later and still friends... he lives in the States and I live in Canada, works for both of us... I found out many years ago marriage is not for me.
9. If you could watch a creative person in the act of the creative process, who would it be?
That is really a hard one... I would love to follow Mike Holmes and learn how to build a house. I get very frustrated when I don’t know how something works; I want to know it all. Today I tried to change the blade on a coping saw... tools totally frustrate me as they are not always self explanatory... needless to say I had to saw with the dull blade...grrr.
10. What kind of books do you read?
I have two full bookcases of decorating books... I am not a novel reader. When I do read a real book it has to be something I can learn from or a good autobiography of someone interesting.
11. How would you see yourself in ten years time?
Sitting on an Island basking in the sun... of course that would be one of the stops along the way while on my world cruise. A girl can dream, can’t I?
12. What’s your fear?
I really don't have any fears. Fear is just the unknown that you haven't experienced yet so I just take things as they come. There you go again Laura answering my question for me... I totally believe that... I will worry about it when it happens. Now don’t be asking me to bungee jump or anything dumb like that... as long as my feet are planted on the ground I have no fears at all.
13. Would you give up all junk food for the rest of your life for the opportunity to look like Marilyn Monroe?
Heck, I thought I already did... in my dreams and then I woke up... hahaha
14. Would you rather be single and rich or married, but poor?
I have been both and always struggling with the dollars... excuse me ladies, give me single and rich... I could always buy a man... hahaha
15. If you could be any other person who would it be?
I think I would pick Oprah... she has it all... the opportunity to help people without ruining them, meets interesting people all the time... has enough money to do what she wants but doesn’t let it go to her head... I really admire her, she has worked very hard to become the woman she is today.
16. If you could change one thing about your spouse/partner what would it be?
Stop tormenting... he is a real teaser and sometimes he really gets on my nerves... see how nice it is living in two separate countries, I just deport him when he bugs me..lol
17. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I would want a fun name... Deborah is too serious... something like Daisy or Mae
18. Would you forgive and forget no matter how horrible a thing that special someone has done?
I always try to be the bigger person... I usually distant myself from them until I can sort it all out in my mind... with time you do forget, but there is a door that is slammed never to be opened again, it is never the same... I truly believe there are too many good people in this world to waste your time on hurtful ones... but if they needed help, I would be the first one in line.
19. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be?
Pasta... I just never get sick of it and you can eat it a hundred different ways. I think I must have been Italian in my last life... I just can't get enough of their food.
