A Wonderful Gift from God

If you are wondering where I have disappeared to these last few weeks this is what has been consuming my days and nights.

Two weeks ago my daughter started having complications with her pregnancy and was ordered to hospitalized bed rest for 6 weeks until such time they would induce her and deliver Mya 6 weeks early. Well being her Nana's impatient little grandaughter she wasn't having anything to do with that plan. Mya decided yesterday at 12:28pm she was making her grand entrance into this world, weighing in at 2.8 pounds. She is quite tiny but healthy and she was breathing on her own. They now have her hooked up to oxygen and all kinds of other tubes to help her along, but the reports at this point are all good. She is a fighter just like her Mommy.

Let me introduce you to my first Grandaughter,
Mya Patricia.
Isn't she beautiful?  Of course she will be much cuter once they take off all that hospital bling.
Right now that is what is making her stronger.

I did get to see her first hand and tell her I loved her.  I now have to wait until she is full term to see her again.  Only Mommy and Daddy are allowed in the ward.  I know that is what is best for baby right now but it is going to be pure torture.

Mya will spend the next 3 months in the NeoNatal Ward at a truly amazing hospital with the best of care, until she is strong enough to go home with Mommy and Daddy.

Thank you to all for your prayers and blessings. Could I please ask you to continue to pray for our sweet little one that she becomes stronger with each day.  She truly is a gift from God.

Hugs to all,
Deb

Thank you everyone for your sweet comments and prayers... just wanted to let you know Mya is now breathing on her own 100%, they have removed the breathing tube. The Doctors cannot believe the progress she has made in a day and has told my daughter she will be out in no time. Oh I am so excited. I will keep you all posted.

Hugs, Deb

So happy to hear of Mya's great progress. Guess she didn't like the 3 month recovery plan either! I'll bet you're able to hold her within a week. She seems to know how impatient you are to get your grandma fix.

Congratulations on your beautiful bundle! Will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. Are we not a fortunate generation to have such great medical teams?

Thank you each and everyone one of you for stopping by and for your wonderful well wishes...

Update 08-28-2010 - the latest report on Mya is she is doing fantastic... she has gain 2 oz, she had lost a bit and now is on the way back up... she is now accepting Mommy's milk... Doctors' and Nurses are totally amazed at how well she is doing... all tests are normal, no problems with her at all... we just have to fatten up those little bones... Gramma will be holding her in no time.

Hugs to all... Deb
