Welcome to my garden...

This is all I did this weekend... and seeing we had a long weekend it gave me another day to garden pull grass and a million weeds, oh lucky me... I have to go back to work for a rest.  There is something to be said about sitting behind a desk...

Grab your coffee it is a bit long...
I would like to give you the grand tour of my gardens before I pick the hill to die on.

Now if you are inclined to love gardening and you would like to visit and stay a spell...
I have a beautiful guest room for you to stay.

this is the suicide hill... this is on the right side of my driveway...
it is a killer and attacks the back of the legs... after the fifth trip up you are ready for traction...
yes I carried everyone of those rocks up there too... I was on mission a couple of years ago... like Rose that curb shops for junk,  I rock shop... it doesn't matter where I find a large rock it is coming home with me... there isn't a rock safe within miles of me...

now come on up to the entrance of the yard...

at the top of the stairs, watch your step...

following down the yellow brick road...

just to the right, we have the monster clamatis, periwinkle
and other stuff that I don't know the name of...

up a little further...
giant hostas (it's only May and they are already huge) and ladder with antique tools, that I still use...
the claw if my fav tool, makes an awesome back scratcher.

a little further... wagon wheel that still has the Christmas lights on from 3 years ago...
I hate doing things twice... lol

to your left... the hosta garden and old wagon that I dragged home from somewhere...

check out the nice clean edge there... and no nasty grass lurking in there yet...
and a antique sickle hiding in the hostas... my garden is full of old tools of the working kind

across from the hosta garden... pretty peonies... I wish they would last longer... so pretty

Kermit wants in the act too and says hello...

another antique garden tool... some more periwinkle...
I love that stuff I don't have to cut it down, it takes care of itself.

you know you are a redneck when...
I hit a stubborn root and it attacked my pitch fork...
that was my favourite one too...
Mr. D. decided to give it a proper burial... lol

I had big plans for Mr. D. this weekend... yesterday he was to take three of those nasty evergreen balls out of there... well one is down , dragged up the hill and burnt... it was quite warm, so he decided that maybe we should quit for the day... he forgot to tell me there was a ball game.

whacking head with a brick...hmmm empty space, so I decided to start another garden this morning... I stole plants and rocks from all over don't look too close, a few may be missing from your property... hopefully they will live, they are looking a little wilted...  this side is going to have to wait to be polished until my body recovers.

now if you are thirsty from all that looking... here is a spot reserved just for you...
I will be right out with a nice cold beer Iced Tea.

I won't torture you with the backyard, I will save that for another day...
I think at this point the only thing I want to plant is a For Sale sign on the front lawn...

Hope you enjoyed the tour...
Have a great day... thanks for stopping by...

I think I will grab an iced tea and enjoy the sunshine... until I spot another patch of weeds.

Hugs,

Ugh, I wish that my yard looked as good as yours. You have to watch that you don't trip over toys or step in dog poop in mine. I feel for ya with the weeds. I think that maybe I will get rid of the flowers, that I seem to kill anyways, and start growing weeds. Those sticker things are killer too! I think you deserve a beer, errrr iced tea now.

Ah, wonderful tour Deb. I need to work on my green thumb. Since hubby is home now, things are looking better outside. Slowly but surely. I feel your pain sister:) That bending over ruins my backside for a few days too. LOL. Happy gardening gal!

You were busy! I have barely touched my yard yet. Only the part you can see from the road so far.
We are too much alike, you have almost all the same garden junk as I do! Your peonies are great, I can't believe they are blooming already. Mine are at least another week from popping. I have at least 2 dozen peonies, thanks to the former owner of this house. I never even knew what one was until our first summer here, then we fell in love. Factoid, Baldwinsville, NY was considered the peony capital of the world, having been home to 2 peony farms in it's heyday. Most of mine are heritage varieties from those original farms. We actually have a peony festival every year!
Love your pergola on the deck. No wonder you want to spend more time there! ;)

Deb, I just realized that I hadn't seen any updates recently from you and hoped that all is well, look forward to visiting. If I lived closer I might be tempted to take a few goodies from your garden, just kidding:0)
